Every year when fall comes around, I think to myself, "Time for me to get some new boots!" They're my FAVORITE. To me, the boots complete the whole fall "look". You can throw on a nice comfy sweater and a pair of jeans, but a pair of boots can really tie it all together.
But the same pair of boots won't suit everybody. Everyone has their own style. There are tall boots, short boots, boots with heels, boots without heels, black boots, brown boots, purple boots-- the list goes on and on.
So, when the fall season began, I made my way to DSW to find my perfect pair.
After going up and down the aisles and trying on multiple pairs, I almost wanted to throw in the towel because nothing was standing out to me.
But then…then… a pair caught my eye.
I finally found the pair that suited ME. And it was a perfect fit.
The thing was, the pair of boots I found was nothing like the pair that I had in mind. They were different. Not the color I had set out for. Not the style I had hoped on finding. But to my surprise, they worked for me. And sure was I happy about it!
Sometimes in life we can set out searching for something that we already have a picture of in our heads. Whether it's a picture of the perfect job, or the perfect test results, or even the perfect man or woman. The picture can be so specific and take up most of our focus that we can blur out the other images that are right in front of us.
Even the ones that we've passed by over and over again.
...Just like walking through a shoe store.
God’s plan for our lives is bigger and better than we could ever imagine. The plan He has for MY life may be different than the plan that He has for YOURS. Just like how we all have our own perfect fit for our own pair of shoes. And when we least expect it, God can clear up our blurred images and bring them into focus. And then… it clicks. And just like that pair of shoes catches your eye, God’s call for your life becomes clearer.
And the outcome can be better than you ever planned.
Have you found YOUR perfect fit?
